I did not get much time to take as many photos of people that I wanted. I just learned that I have to be in at Lake Chelan for the next 3 days and will not be back until our class, I hope. So I grabbed one of my son's friends. This was taken using my studio lights. I had a 36 inch umbrella with a flash set behind me. I used a spot light for the background behind the subject and a soft box to the right facing down onto the subject. I thought the catch light worked well. 1/60, F11, ISO 500.

I like the shadow on the left side of the face. Helps to define the 3D sculpting of the face, as does the shadows under the jaw, to the side of the nose and the dimple recesses. Do you think the back light could have been a little brighter to create more of a separation between the dark hair and background? On my monitor, it looks dark. Maybe using a hair light would have helped to increase the highlights in the hair. GOOD WORK - !
