Birch Bark
This is a close-up of birch bark posed against the foliage and sky at the tree crown. The sun hit the tree from the south east at about 1:00 in the afternoon. I like this because it juxtaposes basic black and white texture against a blurred colorful background.
Meta data: focal length 42mm, exposure 1/2000s, f/4.5, ISO 200, spot metering, sun WB, hard sharpness.
My Pony
This pony was grazing on a farm pasture as a drove by -- stopped right away and knew there was a photo waiting. AS I walked up with the camera, he came over to the fence for a visit. He put that snout through the fence, and there was the shot! In the enlarged version, you can see his nose whiskers.
Meta data: focal length 16mm, exposure 1/640s, f/8.0, ISO 160, -1 flash fill flash.
Yellow Blaze
This very large maple was located on the lake shore in a grove of birch, maple, pine and other trees. The traditional fall colors caught my attention because the yellow is so overwhelming standing under the tree, with the vivid blue sky poking between the branches and leaves. The front is a bit blown out, but I think you get the idea.
Meta data: focal length 21 mm, exposure 1/80s, f/5.0, ISO 200, sun WB, metering center weight.
